Post Malone to Ring in 2020 With Headlining ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ Performance


Post Malone knows how to party, and we couldn’t think of a better person we’d want to watch ring in the new decade.

dick clark productions and ABC announced on Wednesday (Dec. 17) that the “rockstar” rapper will headline Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020 in Times Square, New York, just minutes before the ball drops.

Post Malone will also be joined by BTS, Sam Hunt and Alanis Morissette, performing with the cast of the hit Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill. To add to the celebration, presenting sponsor YouTube will take a look back at the biggest trends on YouTube from the past decade and make a surprise announcement.

“We are so lucky to have Post Malone performing for the world right before the iconic ball drop,” Mark Bracco, executive producer and EVP, programming and development, dick clark productions, said in a press statement. “Add to that superstars like BTS, Sam Hunt and Alanis Morrissette and it promises to be a memorable New Year’s Eve in Times Square.” 

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020, will air live on Dec. 31 beginning at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, featuring five-and-a-half hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations around the world. Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City, alongside co-host Lucy Hale. Ciara will return as host of the Hollywood Party, and Billy Porter will lead the Central Time Zone celebration in New Orleans.
