The National Conservation Commission (NCC) is not only looking to boost the number of lifeguards, but also ensure more Barbadians know how to swim and save lives.
Acting general manager Ryan Als told the DAILY NATION plans were in the works to increase their ranks, work more closely with the military and improve their operations.
“We are looking at restructuring to see how we can better serve the public – the operating procedures, equipment and personnel, increased area of coverage. It is a holistic plan we are engaged in. We have short-term and long-term goals for the lifeguard service and we will not be limiting it to in-house as we will be engaging the military. (CA)
