The tips are continuing to come in to CrimeStoppers Barbados, says programme director Sherie Holder-Olutayo.
On average, about 40 tips per month are reported, she said, adding that so far for November, the anonymous hotline had received 28. She said that number was expected to increase as Christmas approaches.
“We had a lot of tips being reported during the lockdown. There is usually a lag during the summer but that didn’t really happen this year, probably because everybody was home because of COVID-19.
“The month is not over, so we suspect that [the tips]can end up in the high 50s . . . because in previous years we noticed that November to January tend to be high-value months,” Holder-Olutayo said on Wednesday after a Power To Make A Difference presentation at Republic Bank, Limegrove, St James, where the organisation received a donation.
