3rd R. Kelly tape

A third tape that allegedly shows R Kelly sexually abusing underage girls has been handed into police.

Gary Dennis, a nursing home worker, told reporters that he handed the tape over to authorities after discovering it at his house among an old video tape collection.

Mr Dennis initially believed it was a recording of R Kelly in concert, but it turned out to show a man – who he says appeared to be Kelly – sexually abusing “underaged African American girls”.

He claims he saw Kelly “telling them what to do and what to say, and it appeared that he was in control of the camera”.

He then contacted law enforcement and Gloria Allred, a lawyer representing women who claim to have been sexually abused by Kelly. The tape was then turned over to the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Ms Allred said Mr Dennis has no personal connection to Kelly and has “no idea” how he came to possess the tape, adding that friends had given him tapes of sporting events in the past.

Kelly was charged last month with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims, three of whom were minors.

The singer pleaded not guilty to all charges, and has now denied appearing in the video.

“The doubt here is self-evident,” Kelly’s lawyer Steve Greenberg said. “It is not him [Kelly]. The larger question is what the authorities are doing about Dennis’s possession of what they believe is child pornography in their tape collection. It is obviously now just open season on R Kelly.”

Earlier this month, Kelly gave an explosive interview on CBS This Morning where he ranted and sobbed as he denied the allegations against him.
