As the last lap for the Crop Over Festival heats up, tourism officials are expecting more merry-makers to fly into the island this weekend.
“The information from the hoteliers indicates that the season is on par with previous years and we are aware there have been comments about insufficient seats from some of the markets, so we are aware that the flights have been coming in relatively full. We believe the quantity of overseas visitors will probably be comparable to previous years,” chief executive officer (CEO) at the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) William “Billy” Griffith said.
Likewise, the chief executive officer of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) Senator Rudy Grant also anticipated a positive performance. (TG)
